Progression of the Syracuse Single Game Scoring Record (post 1-foul shooter rules. Prior to Hanson, one player was permitted to take all the foul shots for a team, so individuals prior to then could have had several games with 30+ points. Syracuse University recognizes the record only after individuals took their own free throws).

*For reasons I've yet to uncover, the 26 point effort by Toronto was not recognized as the record. When Hanson scored 25 against Penn in 1925, he was recognized as breaking his own record of 24 from the Clarkson game, and when Kartluke has 25 in 1939, he was recognized as tying Hanson's mark. However the 1/11/1925 Syracuse Herald shows Hanson as having 26 points against Toronto. Similarly a 26 point effort against Hobart was not counted as a record as shown in the 12/11/1926 Syracuse Post Standard.
