Clinton Goodwin was the team captain and Fred Griffin was the team manager. Syracuse University was not financially supporting the basketball program as well as they were the other programs, with only $50 allocated to running the team. There were concerns in February that the team was going to have to generate large crowds in order to make up the defecit they were facing.
On the court the team would go 3-3. They would have three lopsided wins, loss two competitive games with Colgate and Rochester, and were totally outclassed by RPI to start the season.
During this season, field goals were worth three points, while free throws were the traditional one point.
