Comments:

Syracuse had lost the last two games of their series with central New York rival Colgate. The Orange struggled in the first half of the game in all aspects of the game with poor shooting, defense, and rebounding. They trailed 46-30 at halftime.

The Orange continued their poor performance to start the second half as Colgate would score the first eight points and stretch the lead to 54-30 with 16:32 remaining in the game. The Orange would ramp up their defensive pressure and slowly start to chip away at the Red Raiders lead. Chris Bell and Judah Mintz would spur the offensive comeback. With 11:03 left in the game the Orange cut the lead to 58-48 on a Bell three point shot. The Red Raiders were able to keep it at a ten point lead until 6:10 left, when the Orange started chipping away again.

After repeated attempts the Orange would finally tie the score at 70 on another Bell three pointer with 1:38 to go. J.J. Starling would be fouled on the next possession, and his free throws would give the Orange a 72-70 lead. The Orange would hold on to win 79-75, securing a 24 point comeback, the largest in Syracuse basketball history.
