Comments:

Syracuse dominated the NCAA game against Davidson. Davidson was led by All American Dick Snyder, and were a much taller team than the Orangemen. However, Syracuse was led by the brilliant play of Dave Bing, and would dominate the rebounding. Bing was by far the best player on the court, and helped feed many of his teammates passes for easy baskets. [1]

Rodney Knowles and Snyder led both teams in scoring with 25 points, though many of those were scored in 'garbage time' when the outcome of the game was decided. The Orangemen led 78-41 with 10 minutes to play in the game.

George Hicker led the Orangemen in scoring with 22 points. Rick Dean saw his playing time limited because of foul trouble but still managed a productive twelve rebounds. Syracuse's Jim Boeheim was the hottest shooter of the game making seven of his nine field goal attemps, as the Orangemen won easily 94-78.

This was Syracuse's first NCAA tournament game since 1957.
