Norm Goldsmith was an aggressive forward for Syracuse basketball for three seasons. Goldsmith was a good rebounder and solid defender.
Goldsmith was the third scoring option for the Orangemen his sophomore season, behind the high scoring duo of Dave Bing and Chuck Richards. He would average 8.8 points a game, and provide a nice rebounding compliment to Bing and Richards.
Goldsmith would struggle with his scoring his junior season, and would eventually see reduced playing time as coach Fred Lewis' deep bench provided plenty of opportunities for other players. Goldsmith would see an even further reduced role his senior year.
Goldsmith was killed in an automobile accident in September of 1977.
