Comments:
Syracuse opened the season demonstrating very quick and accurate passing to help them move the ball around. Lew Castle dominated the play with 11 field goals; he easily could have made another six baskets if not for some sloppy play on his own part. Sol Bloom resumed his free throw duties, and made his first seven attempts. The Orangemen led 41-15 before they brought in four substitutes. [1]
