Allen Kennedy was a forward for Syracuse basketball for one season.
Kennedy initially started college at Colgate, and played basketball there.
He would transfer to Syracuse. Kennedy and David Musk were prominent reserves on the team in 1913. However, both were dropped from the squad after the Colgate game on February 26th, for violating team training rules.
Kennedy would work for Dow Chemical for a bit after college. He would play minor league basketball in upstate New York for a few years.
In 1919, Kennedy and his brothers would found the Ken-Wel sporting goods company in Gloversville, New York. The company specialized in baseball gloves, and had many special designs and patents. Their brand became very popular and notable players such as Lou Gehrig, Dazzy Vance, and Johnny Mize endorsed their products. Allen Kennedy would run the company, and eventually buy out his brothers. He would sell the business in 1952.
