Sol Bloom was an outstanding player for Syracuse from 1911 to 1915, playing guard and forward. He was a fleet footed player and a good shooter. Bloom was captain of the team his senior season 1912-13. He was president of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity at Syracuse. Bloom was an outstanding free throw shooter and would be the team's designated free throw shooter most his career.
Bloom would later become a highly respected doctor. He would serve in the Army Medical Corps in World War I.
