Torrence transferred to Syracuse after his sophomore season. His role was the backup point guard to Joe Girard. He struggled at times to score, but showed he was a valuable playmaker and a solid defender. He would hurt his leg in the Clemson game which forced him to miss the Pitt game. He later suffered a concussion in the Duke game forcing him to miss the North Carolina and Miami games to close the season. He would get extended minutes in the ACC tournament and played very well with 20 assists, nine rebounds, and 16 points with only 3 turnovers in the two games. He started the last game of the season against Duke due to the suspension of Buddy Boeheim.
Torrence was the primary reserve guard his senior season. He provided a steadying playmaker when needed as well as a defensive upgrade.
Torrence transfered to Binghamton as a fifth year grad transfer.
