Syracuse Basketball 1950-1959 |
Team Record | 135-89 0.602 |
Post Season | 1 NCAA, 1 NIT, 1 NCT |
Style | Syracuse tended to run a set offense, geared around a couple of players to do the scoring, often trying to feed a man down low in the pivot. Role players were very common with an individual designated for rebounding, and a couple for defensive pressure. Full court presses would be common, as would half court sets. The team tended to have irregular lineups, but did not go very deep into the bench. This was the first decade of truly integrated teams. |
Player of the Decade | Vinnie Cohen. By far the best player of the decade. |
