Chris Kouray was a member of the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons. He would play both the forward and guard position. Kouray was a high school teammate of fellow Orangeman Stan Kruse at Mont Pleasant.

Chris Kouray Syracuse OrangemenKouray was a seldom used reserve his sophomore season on a team with several seniors. He would be one of the top reserves on the team his junior and senior years. He was recognized as being an exceptional passer and very adept at starting fast breaks. [1] He also had a solid set shot. He would score a career high 13 points against Rochester his junior year.

Kouray would graduate from Syracuse with a Masters in Public Administration. He would join the Navy and serve as a lieutenant in World War II. He was part of the Amphibious Corps and fought in Africa and Europe.

In 1948 he would graduate from Albany Law School, and would join the family law firm Kouray & Kouray. [2]

Kouray would own several thoroughbred race horses. In 1996, his horse 'Aristie' was recognized as the New York State two year old filly of the year.

Kouray passed away in 2001.
