Don 'Chick' Sayle played guard for Syracuse basketball for three seasons. He was known for his outstanding defensive play.
Sayle was a frequently used reserve his sophomore season, seeing significant playing time. Midway through the season he started a few games. He began his junior season as one of the starting guards. Unfortunately he would hurt his knee in the Clarkson game, and end up missing the remainder of the season.
Sayle would be named the team captain for his senior season.
Sayle would coach high school basketball, moving out west, leading the Taft Union High School (CA) to its first conference championship in 1952.
