Danny DiPace was a sharp shooting forward for Syracuse for three seasons. He was an outstanding all around athlete. DiPace earned a starting berth on the Syracuse squad as a sophomore. DiPace would also letter twice in baseball (1941, 1943) playing second base.

Dan DiPace Syracuse BasketballHis sophomore baseball season he was hitting .455 until he broke his leg. He was able to recuperate from that injury prior to the next basketball season.

As a junior he was the star player on the team, and was the co-leader in scoring with Joe Glacken for most the season . Unfortunately, DiPace severely injured his knee towards the end of the season, and would miss three games.

DiPace would be the team captain his senior season, and play primarily at guard that year. He had not fully recovered from his knee injury, and could not return to the form he has previously displayed.

DiPace would serve in the Navy in World War II, following his graduation. He passed away in 1995. He was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame posthumously in 1997.
