Bob Felasco was a reserve on the 1948 and 1949 Syracuse basketball teams.
Felasco was All City in high school for Syracuse's North High in baseball and basketball. He served in the army during World War II, and played basketball for the Fort Lewis team for two years.
He played mostly on the junior varsity team at Syracuse, though he did get some playing time on the varsity his junior and senior seasons.
Following graduation from Syracuse, Felasco served as the head basketball and baseball coach at Syracuse's St. Johns The Evangelist school from 1950 to 1968. He coached at Cathedral Academy for a couple of years, and then coached CBA's basketball team from 1970 to 1978. As a high school basketball coach, his overall record was 328-104.
Felasco was also a college basketball referee of good repute. From 1969 to 1986 he was a referee for college basketball, and from 1956 to 2000, he was a high school basketball referee.
He worked for General Electric and Niagara Mohawk for most of his professional career.
He was inducted into the Syracuse Hall of Fame in 1990, for his contributions 44 years as a referee, and 28 years as a head basketball coach. He was named a Vic Hanson Medal of Excellence winner in 1977.
Felasco passed away in 2010.
