Dave Aldrich was a reserve player for Syracuse for three seasons. Aldrich was a left handed shooter who played both center and forward.

David Aldrich Syracuse Orangemen BasketballAldrich averaged 12.1 points a game and 12.7 rebounds a game his year on the freshman squad.

He was nicknamed 'Gawk' his sophomore season for his angular thin build. He would see little playing time with senior Rick Dean anchoring the center position, and junior Tom Ringelmann his primary backup. Aldrich would start four games that season when Dean injured his knee and missed the games.

Aldrich would back up beefy Wayne Ward his junior season, and would start two games at center when Ward could not play. Aldrich would not start any games his senior season as big Bill Smith arrived on the scene.

He would graduate from Syracuse in 1969.
