The Syracuse Orange and Pitt Panthers have played each other 104 games, the fourth most games for Syracuse against any opponent. The two teams first met in 1914, and Syracuse won the first six games of the series.

Syracuse beat Pitt 10 straight games from 1992 to 1996, and 18 of 19 from 1992 to 2001. Pitt has had the upper hand from 2001 to today, winning five straight from 2007 to 2009, and 14 of 20 games. Syracuse is 2-7 at Pitt's Peterson Center, though the Orange do have the distinction of being the first opponent to beat Pitt at 'the Pete' with their 49-46 win in 2004.

Syracuse had a 36-22 record against Pittsburgh in the Big East. The two schools only met in the Big East Tournament 5 times in 30 years of conference play, with Syracuse going 4-1 against the Panthers.

Syracuse beat Pittsburgh 58-56 on February 12, 2004 when Tyler Ennis hit a 35 foot 3 point shot as time expired. This moved the Orange to a school record 24-0, along with a school record 24 consecutive wins.

The following is Syracuse's won/loss record against each Pittsburgh Panther coach.
