Clarence 'Patch' Giles was a reserve on the Syracuse basketball team for two years.
Giles was from Carbondale, PA, graduated from Bethlehem Preparatory School, and attended Wyoming Seminary in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania before attending Syracuse.
Giles was a standout on the baseball team letter three times (1911, 1912, 1913). He played second base and was captain of the team his junior and senior seasons. He would graduate from Syracuse in 1913.
He would work and live in Cleveland, Ohio for a while before returning to Syracuse. He was the manager at the Hotel Syracuse for several years, and would later be a sales rep.
Giles passed away in November 1954.[1]
