Charley Cook was a reserve guard on the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons. He was a letterman on the Syracuse football team, earning a letter his junior and senior seasons.
Cook saw very limited playing time his sophomore and junior seasons, failing to score in the three games he played. He had figured to have a more prominent role his junior season but got hurt early and missed the rest of the year. He would see a larger role his senior season, starting six games while Stan Richtmeyer was suspended for academic reasons.
Cook would graduate from Syracuse in 1927 and would have a successful career in the food service industry. He was the owner of Cook-Unterecker (Buffalo Baking Corp.) and Cook-Eden Farms.[1]
Cook was named a Syracuse University Letterwinner of Distinction in 1975.
