Pete MacRae was the starting center on the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons. He earned greater distinction on the football field, where he also lettered three times as an end (wide receiver). He was a consensus All-American his senior year in football.
MacRae was a solid inside player, and provided the Orangemen with some good inside scoring.
MacRae was an assistant coach on the basketball team in the mid twenties. He played some professional basketball for the Syracuse All-Stars after graduation.
