Walter Baker was a guard for the Syracuse basketball team for one season. He did not play in any games.
On June 20, 1908, Baker would save Miss Thera M. Douglass from drowning at Long Lake in the Adirondacks. He would receive a Carnegie Medal for Bravery, and an award of $2,000 for education.[1]
