Tom Mossey was a three year starter for the Syracuse Orangemen basketball team. He had a nice perimeter shot from the top of the free throw line.
Mossey was the top reserve his sophomore year, playing both forward and center. He would replace Hal Noyes as the starting forward for a stretch of eight games mid season. Mossey would move into the starting lineup permanently his junior season. He would lead the Orangemen to victory over Colgate and Holy Cross with 22 points in each of those two games.
Mossey would move to center for his senior season. He was undersized at center, and the Orangemen had a tough time rebounding. However, Mossey managed to find ways to score, and he had a career high 28 points against Canisius in a loss.
Mossey would work as a Physical Education teacher for the Schenectady school district following graduation.
