Steve Ludd was a starting guard for Syracuse basketball for one season. Ludd was seldom used during his sophomore season, scoring only four points in eleven games. As a junior, he started every game of the season along with Rich Cornwall in the backcourt, helping lead the Orangemen to the NIT tournament. Ludd was a big guard at 6'3", and a solid ball handler though not much of a scoring threat. He scored a career high 16 points against Manhattan in December of his junior season, and matched that number again later against Holy Cross.
Ludd quit the basketball team prior to his senior season to pursue academics. He would earn his law degree from Syracuse, and later a doctorate. Dr. Steven Ludd was a political science professor at Bowling Green University from 1976 to 2006.
