Ray Flynn was a reserve guard for Syracuse Basketball for one season. Flynn was a veteran of World War II and joined the Syracuse basketball team upon returning to college as a senior.
Flynn started his collegiate career as a scholarship basketball player at Niagara University. He would enlist in the marines when World War II broke out. Flynn would serve in the Marine V-12 Program at the University of Rochester in 1943, and would play basketball at Rochester that season.
After the war, Flynn enrolled at Syracuse University for his senior season. He would be part of Syracuse's first NIT team. He would graduate from Syracuse University and the Syracuse University College of Law.
Flynn coached high school basketball at St. Anthony's (his alma mater) and Christian Brothers Academy for six years.
Flynn would work at Penn Mutual Insurance Company as a general agent for 30 years. [1] He passed away in 2005.
