Kingz transferred to Syracuse for his redshirt senior season. He was a solid two-way player and was the Orange's best offensive player by season's end. He started off the season struggling with his shooting but it improved as the season moved along; he shot 31.6% from three in non-conference play versus 40% in the ACC. He scored 28 points in a win over Notre Dame where he shot 6 for 7 from three, and he scored 27 against both California and Boston College. He would lead the Orange in total scoring.
Kingz started college using the adopted name of Nate Meithof. He legally changed his name before his second year at Oregon State to forge his own identity.
