Manny Klutschkowski was an undersized center for Syracuse basketball for two seasons. He was born in eastern Germany, and his family moved to Boyertown, Pennsylvania when he was 12 years old to avoid the Russian control of the area following World War II.
Klutschkowski did not play on the varsity his sophomore season. He would be the starting center for most of the games his junior and senior year. Though he was only 6'5", he was the tallest regular player the Orangemen had. Klutschkowski would lead the Orangemen in rebounding his junior season.
Klutschkowski graduated from Syracuse in 1963, and would later earn his masters degree. He became a high school teacher and a high school basketball coach. He worked at Goshen High School for two years, before moving to Poland, NY. He would teach and coach for Poland High School for 30 years. [1]
