Larry Weltman played both football and basketball at Syracuse University. He was a forward and guard on the basketball team, and a tailback on the football team. Weltman was known for his solid defensive skills.
He played professional basketball for Alhambra, and later played in the NFL for one season with the Rochester Jeffersonians under coach Joe Alexander, the legendary lineman from Syracuse University.
