Kadary Richmond was a flashy guard for Syracuse basketball for one season. Richmond was a terrific defender with a great instinct for stealing the ball, as well as a terrific passer.
Richmond was the top reserve for the Orange his freshman season, playing the point position whenever he was in the game. He was used to spell Joe Girard at the point position, as well as bring in some defensive pressure. Richmond was adept at driving to the basket for the easier score. As the season progressed, he was able to improve his three point shooting. He would start three games early in the season while Buddy Boeheim was out in Covid protocol.
Richmond's playing time increased all season along as he assumed more and more of the primary point guard responsibilities. He would have a season high 10 assists in a big win over North Carolina on March 1st. Unfortunately he would also hurt his leg that game, and it would slow him down the last six games of the season.
Richmond was unhappy with his playing time and freedom on the court, and transferred to Seton Hall after his freshman season.
