Johnny Gorecke was a guard on the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons. He was an excellent athlete, and also lettered in football three times, playing quarterback and punter.
Gorecke would be a reserve his sophomore season. He would occasionally start his junior and senior seasons, and was the top scoring reserve his senior year.
Gorecke would work for Kodak following graduation and would play for some of the Kodak corporate basketball teams.
His name is often listed as both Gorecki and Gorecke in yearbooks, media guides, and newspaper articles.
