Joe Brucker was a starting forward for Syracuse basketball for one season.
Brucker started college enrolled in Union College and played basketball there in the 1919-1920 season. He would leave Union, and transfer to Syracuse.
Brucker began his senior season as a reserve. He was inserted as a starter in the third game because of his combination of offensive and defensive skills, and would remain the starter for most of the remainder of the season. He played admirably for the season, and finished third in scoring for the team.
Brucker would graduate from Syracuse in 1922. His brothers Matt and George Brucker would play professional basketball in upstate New York while Joe was in college.
