John Baldwin was a reserve guard on the Syracuse basketball team for one season. He was a starter on the Syracuse baseball team, playing second base and lettering three seasons.

Baldwin was born John Balsavich, and played basketball his freshman year under that name. He changed his name to Baldwin at some point.

Balwin graduated from South City High School (Worcester, MA) in 1937 and served in the Army during World War II. He was a freshman at Syracuse in 1947, and played in only one game for the varsity basketball, which was in a lopsided win over St. Lawrence University. He would score two points in that game.

Baldwin graduated from Syracuse in 1950, and would later earn a Masters in Education from Worcester State College. Baldwin would teach and coach baseball and basketball at his alma mater South High for several years [1]

He passed away in 2007.
