Howard Fitzgerald was a reserve guard on the Syracuse basketball team for one season. Fitzgerald also played on the Syracuse soccer team in 1938.
Fitzgerald would play in only one varsity basketball game at Syracuse which was during his sophomore season. This was the game where coach Lew Andreas played a school record 21 players.
