Whitey Brenneman was a reserve on the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons.

Whitey Brenneman Syracuse Orangemen BasketballBrenneman was a reserve guard his sophomore season, playing in just one game. He would see more playing time his junior season, again as a guard. Brenneman would move to center for his senior year, as the Reindeer Five moved up to the varsity and dominated the guard and forward positions.

Brenneman would serve two years with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Brenneman would work in the insurance industry following his graduation from Syracuse. He would become a partner in Ellis, Moreland & Ellis in 1938, and would later serve as the president and the chairman of the board. [1]

Brenneman died in 1975. He was posthumously recognized as a Syracuse Letterwinner of Distinction in 1977.
