Ed Glacken was a reserve forward for Syracuse for one season. He also lettered in baseball for two seasons (1946,1947) playing leftfield.
Glacken served in the Army before going to college. He was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force and was stationed in England with the Eighth Air Force.
Glacken followed his older brother Joe to Syracuse University. They would play together in the 1946-47 season in basketball, and also together in baseball. Ed Glacken was described as being a tall and fast player, and he was pushing a lot of the veteran players that season for a starting position.
