Bud Elford was a reserve guard on the Syracuse basketball team for one season. He would leave school to serve in the Army Air Force in World War II, and would serve in the Pacific Theater.
Elford would return to Syracuse after the war and graduate in 1946. He would work as a sales representative for Oneida Silverware for several years [1].
He was a successful golfer and a member of the U.S. PGA. He was the golf pro at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri.
Elford passed away in 2012 [1].
