Ernie DeLaMotte was a reserve forward on the Syracuse basketball team for one season. He would leave school after his junior season due to World War II and would return in 1946.
DeLaMotte played end on the freshman football team in 1940, and center on the freshman basketball team later that year.
He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps, and served as a pilot and flight instructor for the B-24 Liberator and B-29.
He would letter on the men's tennis team in 1947, while also coaching the men's freshman tennis team.
DeLaMotte would attend Columbia University upon graduating from Syracuse. He would found the DeLaMotte Company, an office supply company, in Plainesville, Ohio in 1953.
DeLaMotte passed away in December 2015 [1].
