Dick Taylor was a guard for Syracuse basketball for three seasons. Taylor also played baseball at Syracuse, lettering three times.

Dick Taylor - Syracuse OrangemenTaylor would barely play his sophomore season registering just three games. He played a significant role his junior season, and was an occasional starter on the team. His role would be reduced his senior year.

Taylor would have a career in basketball coaching. He was the head coach of Lock Haven University basketball from 1972-1977, an assistant coach in the NBA with the New York Knicks from 1978-1979, and was an assistant coach at Creighton University from 1979-1982.. Taylor was the head coach of Clarion University basketball for six seasons, from 1983 to 1988. He led the Golden Eagles to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Titles in 1982-1983, 1983-1984, and 1984-1985.

Richard Taylor earned his doctorate from Springfield College in 1974 while he coached the freshman basketball team. He was inducted into the Clarion University Sports Hall of Fame in 2014 [1].
