The Syracuse Orangemen and Clarkson Golden Knights first played in 1916. The two schools met regularly from 1921 to 1928.
The Orange hold a 17-1 advantage over the Golden Knights. Clarkson's only win came in 1923. Syracuse has won the last fourteen games in the series. The two teams last met in 1959.
Vic Hanson set the Syracuse single game scoring record with 24 points against Clarkson in 1924, and Paul Kartluke broke that record with 25 points against Clarkson in 1939 (the record is currently held by Bill Smith with 47 against Lafayette).
Hank Hodge is Clarkson's all-time winningnest coast with a record of 196-179. Syracuse was 7-0 versus Hodge.
The first fourteen games of the series were all played in Syracuse; only two of the games were played at Clarkson.
Clarkson University currently is Division III for men's basketball.
