Claude Pape was the top reserve for Syracuse basketball for one season. He started the first three games of the season, until Ken Harris finished his football season, and was ready to start at guard.
With the outbreak of World War I, Pape left college and joined the army. He was a sergeant with the 106th Machine Gun battalion and served overseas.
He would enter the insurance industry upon his return and would become an accountant.
Pape would pass away in 1967.
