Ken 'Bunk' Harris played one year of varsity basketball for Syracuse as a starting guard. Coach Eddie Dollard felt that Harris was the best clutch shooter on the team. He was a letterman on the Syracuse football team as a fullback. Harris did not return to school after his sophomore season due to recurring eye problems. He later enrolled at Columbia.
Harris was the captain of the freshman basketball team. He was named All-State in South Dakota for high school basketball.
Harris served in the cavalry in World War I. He would play one season in the NFL for the Duluth Kelleys in 1923. He played fullback and threw for two touchdowns
