Bill Case was a forward on the Syracuse basketball team for three seasons. He was a decent mid range shooter.
Case would play in most games his sophomore season, but he was stuck behind two veteran seniors forwards George Hicker and Vaughn Harper.
He would move into the starting lineup his junior season, replacing the ineligible Bob McDaniel for the entire year. Case would be named the team captain for his senior season. Unfortunately he would be injured before the year began, and he missed the first eight games. When he returned healthy, he was an occasional starter.
Case would graduate from Syracuse with a BA in history and political science, and later get his Masters in Public Administration from Syracuse. He would teach history at Greene High School and at Broome Community College in the Binghamton area. Case was a successful basketball coach for Greene High School, coaching the girls varsity basketball team for several seasons and compiling a 427-129 record. In 2008 he would become a teacher at George Stevens Academy in Maine, and was an assistant coach with the girls' varsity team.
