Paul 'Pitty' Piotrowski played forward for the Orangemen for three seasons. He was part of Roy's Runts, and at 6'3" was right at home on the front line. He was a valuable sixth man, providing support at the 'wing' positions.

PaulPiotrowskiPiotrowski would average 16.5 points (265 points) and 10.5 rebounds a game (169 rebounds) on the freshman team. He would see little playing time his sophomore year on the varsity, playing in only 14 game and scoring 13 points.

He moved into the starting lineup his junior season, when senior Bob McDaniel left the team. He would score a career high 18 points in his first start, a game against the University of Rochester that Syracuse won 117-69. After seven starts he would move to the sixth man role, backing up new starter Mark Wadach and sophomore star Mike Lee.

Piotrowski was named co-captain of the team his senior season, along with classmate Greg Kohls. The arrival of more players on the team, including reserve center Tom Stundis, and forward Chuck Wichman and Bill Finney, would cut Piotrowski's playing time in half. He would 9 points in a big win over West Virginia, a win that started an eight game winning streak for the Orangemen, and a bid to the NIT tournament.

Piotrowski graduated from Syracuse with a degree in physical education, and would teach and coach in the Utica area for 34 years, before retiring in 2007. He would help recruit fellow Utica Notre Dame player Dale Shackleford to Syracuse, a few years after graduation.
