Paul Frederick played varsity basketball for one season for Syracuse. Frederick was a reserve on the basketball team his junior season, but did not play in any varsity action that year. He was also a member of the men's tennis team lettering in 1907.
He was the assistant team manager his senior season, and a reserve player. He would score a career high ten points in a lopsided game against Hamilton. Unfortunately in that game, Frederick would get a deep bruise on his arm. A few days later, in filthy conditions in the Syracuse gym, Frederick would get an infection and then blood poisoning in his arm. There were deep concerns that Frederick would not recover from the blood poisoning [1], but eventually he did, and would graduate that spring.
