Matt Tomaszewski was a walk-on forward for the Syracuse basketball team. Tomaszewski played at the University of Tampa (Division II) for two seasons, before enrolling and transferring to Syracuse. He would redshirt the 2009-2010 season at Syracuse
Tomaszewski would see limited minutes his freshman year at Tampa. His sophomore year he would start most of the games, and was third on the team regarding the number of three point shots he made (36). He would hit 32% of his three point attempts, and 75% of his limited free throw attempts.

Tomaszewski made the news in 2018 when he saved two people from drowning at New Hampshire's Seabrook Beach. [1]
