Mark Konecny was a reserve forward for one season for Syracuse basketball.
Konecny was a highly touted and recruited player out of high school, with smooth moves to the basket on a big 6'9" frame. He was named the Gatorade State Player of the Year for Connecticut his senior season when he averaged 24.8 points per game and 11 rebounds.
Konecny would play two games at Syracuse, before leaving school in November due to academic and personal problems. He would then start a cycle of transferring to multiple schools. From 2002 to 2003 he transferred to University of Central Florida, Iona, and the College of South Idaho. Finally, he ended up at Yavapai Community College in Arizona for the 2003-04 season where he played his sophomore season.
