Lucas Taylor was a swingman guard for Syracuse basketball known for his steady play and solid defense.
Taylor played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Wake Forest as a seldom used reserved. He demonstrated his perimeter shooting touch his sophomore year, but not enough to warrant more playing time. He transferred to Georgia State for his junior season.

Taylor started the season at Syracuse as a reserve but moved into the starting lineup in January to replace a slumping Chris Bell at small forward. Taylor was the top defender on the team and displayed a consistent perimeter shooting touch. He scored a season high 19 in a win over California in February.
