Jim Casey played on the Syracuse varsity basketball team for three seasons. Casey was a reserve player his sophomore season.
His junior year, Casey was a regular starting forward. He would move to guard for his senior season, and had a reputation for being a tough defensive player.
Following graduation, Casey would serve in World War I with the American Expeditionary Forces in France. Casey played professional basketball for the Syracuse All-Americans from 1919 to 1922, and for Buffalo for one season.
Casey passed away in 1963.
