Jaquan Carlos was a playmaking point guard for Syracuse basketball for one season.
Carlos played basketball at Thomas Jefferson High School. His senior year he scored 92 points in a win over Teachers Prep and then later scored 90 points in a win over Transit Tech.
Carlos was point guard for Hofstra for three seasons, known for his playmaking and defensive skills. He was named to the Coastal Athletic Association All-Defensive Team his sophomore and junior seasons. He would have a career high 19 points in a win over Northeastern on February 17, 2024. He had a high of 23 points in a win over Stony Brook. Carlos would transfer to Syracuse for his senior year.

Carlos started the first fourteen games at Syracuse, but he struggled to adjust to the level of play at Syracuse. He would move to the bench, in favor of JJ Starling playing the point. Carlos would regain the starting position to close out the season, and his game had improved with 9 assists against Virginia Tech and 8 against SMU. Against Albany earlier in the season he had a season high 12 assists.
