Joseph 'J.B.' Reafsnyder was a center for Syracuse Basketball for four seasons. Reafsnyder was a big body at 6'10", weighing up to 276 lbs his senior season, and took up a lot of room in the center of the court. He was not a very agile player, but could score well when up close to the basket, and would team up with Otis Hill for most of his career, rotating at the center position.
Reafsnyder came to Syracuse as a tall but skinny recruit, with a need to build a lot of strength. He would red shirt the 1991-1992 season and bulk up to 230 lbs. He would play his first varsity season in 1992-1993 with limited action on the court, playing only 56 minutes in 7 games.
Reafsnyder would see his first significant playing time his sophomore season. He would begin his pairing with freshman Otis Hill at that point, and the two of them would share the center position the rest of Reafsnyder's career. Reafsnyder would become the starting center his junior season, and then back up Hill his senior year. He would play in the National Championship game in 1996.
Reafsnyder would graduate from Syracuse in 1996 with a degree in political science. He would play basketball in Europe for 8 1/2 years. Upon retiring from basketball in 2004, Reafsnyder would earn his law degree at the University of Memphis in 2008. He would practice commercial law in Memphis, TN.
