Harry Martin was a forward on the Syracuse basketball team for two seasons.

Harry Martin Syracuse Orangemen BasketballMartin would be a reserve his sophomore season and he failed to play in any games. His junior year he would play in one game.

In 1917 Martin left Syracuse University to serve with the American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F.) in France in World War I. He served as a second lieutenant. Martin would stay in the military following the war, and would become an army aviator. In 1922 he was stationed at Kelley Field in Texas as a first lieutenant. He was killed in a flying accident in February 1923 when his plane crashed upon takeoff. He was 40' off the ground when the plane nosedived and killed him instantly. [1]
