Eric Williams was a big muscular forward who played for Syracuse basketball for two seasons. Williams was a strong rebounder, and a good inside scorer.

Williams was a high school teammate of Syracuse player Allen Griffin at Robeson High School. Together they won the Brooklyn City Championship in 1996.

Williams was a reserve forward his freshman year, seeing about 8 minutes a game, and not playing in many of the tougher Big East games. Williams would earn a starting position for the beginning of his sophomore season. He was a solid rebounder, but his inconsistent play and the improved play of teammate Damone Brown cost Williams his starting position. Frustrated with the lack of playing time, Williams would quit the team halfway through the season.

Williams would transfer to the University of Massachusetts. There were high expectations for his at UMass, but he never lived up to them. Williams would average 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds a game his junior year for the Minutemen (2000-2001), and 5.7 points per game with 4.7 rebounds per game his senior seasons (2001-2002).

He would play for three teams in the NBDL in 2002-2003: the Greenville Groove, the Columbus Riverdragons, and the Huntsville Flight. By the end of the year, he left the NBDL and was playing for the Louisville Flight of the USBL, and then for the Brooklyn Kings. That was five teams in one season.

From 2003 to 2007 he would play for several other teams in the CBA and USBL, and would play in leagues in England, Finland, and Chile. In the 2007-08 season he played for the Puento Alto team in Chile.
